I currently work -- home-based -- as team leader for a company that produces newsletters about financially distressed firms in the United States. My job includes proofreading, writing original content, abstracting court documents and regulatory filings, rewriting news articles and reprinting company press releases posted in PRNewswire, BusinessWire and Marketwire. I've been doing this for five years.
About three years ago, I took separate courses from Eileen Willner and John Mooney of Lewis Associates on writing news articles and press releases. Focus was on tightening, and minimizing verbiage and wrong grammar.
