I have my design and links up and running (mostly) and need to complete it with the following areas of work which require php and wordpress/ thesis expertise. PAGES==== I would like to be able to know how to post static page content without some of the elements of a wordpress page, such as the "comment closed" caption at bottom of page and maybe without title of page at top of body content area. I would also like to be able to post a blog, assign it a category and have the summary/excerpt of that blog show up on the page also named with that category. For example, I have a category called Moon Dancing. I want to post a blog entry, categorize it as Moon Dancing, and then have the page of Moon Dancing post an excerpt underneath static content of that post where people can click and go to that posting. Also, I want sub-categories of categories to be listed on the left. For example, Moon Dancing is the primary category and page, while the subcategories are as follows: - Body Movements - Yoga - Stretching - Dancing - Firewalking - New Moon - Full Moon Then, each of those sub-category links will contain a page with all postings with that sub-category and they can read on. TEMPLATE==== I would like to create some pages that don't have any navigation in them, nor any sidebars. Similar to this page: http://balanceandsuccess.com/coaching/index.php contrasted with: http://balanceandsuccess.com/ As I learn how to post static content pages, I would like to be able to select either template A or template B for the page. CSS==== I have some ideas for heading colors and styles. If I send you some ideas, can you translate that into CSS? Or, if I create a css style sheet in Dreamweaver, can you integrate it into the WordPress blog? I want to have different colors, fonts, sizes, bullet icons, etc. SUMMARY==== Basically, I would like to have this all done, so I can concentrate on building content. I don't know php , and wordpress confuses me. I would like to simply be able to know how to do static pages, create them and upload. I would also like to merely enter a blog entry and have it magically appear in summary form where it needs to be in the website. I understand pages aren't suppose to contain blog entries, and SEO doesn't like duplicate info, but I've seen it on others' pages and that's what I'd like to do. While a completely different design, Care2.com has similar content delivery that I would like to have. |
