I am looking for an article to be written. It should be about 2000 words long and specific to people who are looking at starting a home business with a website.
I would like sections like the following but open to suggestions:
1. Short introduction to what websites/domain names and hosting is and why having a website is important. 24 hour sales machine sort of message.
2. Choosing a website.
a) for a tanglible business such as dog cookies or whatever.
b) pre-made turn key website such as classifieds or selling other peoples ebooks or whatever.
c) writing your own ebook. Writing what you know about or hiring a writer.
3. Choosing a domain name. How to choose a name (keywords, relevant name, not too lonnnnng). Where to register a domain (namecheap.com)
4. Choosing a web host. I will add to this, but just a general blurb to recommend Cpanel hosts like hostgator. Talk about price, support, and reading reviews. Difference between a shared and reseller acount.
5. Promoting the website.
a) search engines
b) adwords
c) social networking. Digg, Facebook, Delicious..etc.,
d) blogging
and any other ideas for newbies.
Conclusion
